Polysiloxane foams utilized for stockpile applications experience changes over time induced by exposure to thermal, radiative, and mechanical stresses. The interplay of these stresses can lead to chemical and/or physical changes in the polymer, such as alterations of compression set. Understanding these mechanisms require us to understand the in-situ stress states that these polymeric foams are exposed to in the service environment.
