Experimental searches for neutrinoless double-β decay offer one of the best opportunities to look for physics beyond the standard model. Detecting this decay would confirm the Majorana nature of the neutrino, and a measurement of its half-life can be used to determine the absolute neutrino mass scale. Important to both tasks is an accurate knowledge of the Q value of the double-β decay. The LEBIT Penning trap mass spectrometer was used for the first direct experimental determination of the ⁹⁶Zr double-β decay Q value: Q_ββ=3355.85(15) keV. Here, we report total absorption spectroscopy measurements of ⁹²Rb, ⁹⁶^gsY, and ¹⁴²Cs β decays, which are the most important contributors to the high energy ν¯_e spectral shape in nuclear reactors. These three β decays contribute 43% of the ¯νe flux near 5.5 MeV emitted by nuclear reactors. This ν¯_e energy is particularly interesting due to spectral features recently observed in several experiments including the Daya Bay, Double Chooz, and RENO Collaborations. Strong one-neutron emission from two-neutron unbound states in $β$ decays of the $r$ -process nuclei ${}^{86, 87}{Ga}$

β-delayed one-neutron and two-neutron branching ratios (P1n and P2n) have been measured in the decay of A=84 to 87 Ga isotopes at the Radioactive-Isotope Beam Factory (RIBF) at the RIKEN Nishina Center using a high-efficiency array of 3He neutron counters (BRIKEN). Two-neutron emission was observed in the decay of 84,85,87Ga for the first time and the branching ratios were measured to be P2n=1.6(2)%,1.3(2)%, and 10.2(28)stat(5)sys%, respectively. One-neutron branching ratio of 87Ga(P1n=81(9)stat(8)sys%) and half-life of 29(4) ms were measured for the first time.
