The principal investigator, David Menzel, is responsible for coordinating activities associated with the conduct of research, sponsored by DOE, on the oceanography of the southeastern continental shelf. These activities include: (1) serving as a contact between program managers at DOE and principal investigators associated with the program, (2) developing and implementing long-range research plans, (3) providing DOE with summaries of the results of past and current research activities, (4) conducting planning/reporting meetings involving principal investigators and interested agency personnel, and (5) consolidating and scheduling the use of research vessels. 202 refs.
