Presentation of thermal performance ratings for solar collectors
The Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC) is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is the development and implementation of certification programs and national rating standards for solar energy equipment. The SRCC solar collector certification and rating program was established to provide the general public and technical community with reliable and comparable performance data on solar collectors currently being sold in the marketplace. The collector thermal performance ratings contained in the directory provide both the consumer and the manufacturer with a tool for making informed comparisons between collector models and collector types over a broad range of end-use applications. For greater ease of comparison between collector types, the directory is divided into four sections representing the four main generic categories of collector panels currently certified and rate by SRCC. These four categories are: (1) unglazed flat-plate liquid-type solar collectors; (2) glazed flat-plate liquid type solar collectors; (3) air-type collectors; and (4) linear tracking concentrator solar collectors.
