STOMP Subsurface Transport Over Multiple Phases Version 2.0 Theory Guide
This guide describes the simulator’s governing equations, constitutive functions andnumerical solution algorithms of the STOMP (Subsurface Transport Over Multiple Phases)Version 2.0 simulator, a scientific tool for analyzing multiple phase subsurface flow andtransport. Examples of the STOMP simulator applied to classical groundwater problems areprovided in a companion application guide [Nichols et al. 2000]. A description of the generaluse, input file formatting, compilation and execution are provided in an updated user’s guide[White and Oostrom 2000]. The latest STOMP version includes new operational modes (Water-Oil-Dissolved Oil and Water-Oil-Dissolved Oil-Surfactant), several changes to existing modes, and expanded options for solute transport. For additional information, the reader is referred to the STOMP web page at http://www.pnl.gov/etd/stomp/
