Title: Anode Sheath Switching in a Carbon Nanotube Arc Plasma

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/960288· OSTI ID:960288

The anode ablation rate is investigated as a function of anode diameter for a carbon nanotube arc plasma. It is found that anomalously high ablation occurs for small anode diameters. This result is explained by the formation of a positive anode sheath. The increased ablation rate due to this positive anode sheath could imply greater production rate for carbon nanotubes.
