Title: STUDY OF SEMILEPTONIC DECAYS OF B MESONS TO CHARMED BARYONS

Abstract

Using data collected by the CLEO II detector at a center-of-mass energy on or near the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance, we have determined the 90% confidence level upper limit {Beta}({bar B} {yields} {Lambda}{sub c}{sup +}e{sup -} X)/{Beta}({bar B} {yields} ({Lambda}{sub c}{sup +} or {bar {Lambda}}{sub c}{sup -})X) < 0.05 for electrons with momentum above 0.6 GeV/c. We have also obtained the limit {Beta}(B{sup -} {yields} {Lambda}{sub c}{sup +}{bar p}e{sup -}{bar {nu}}{sub e})/{Beta}({bar B} {yields} {Lambda}{sub c}{sup +}{bar p}X) < 0.04 at the 90% confidence level and measured the ratio {Beta}({bar B} {yields} {Lambda}{sub c}{sup +}{bar p}X)/{Beta}({bar B} {yields} ({Lambda}{sub c}{sup +} or {bar {Lambda}}{sub c}{sup -})X) = 0.57 {+-} 0.05 {+-} 0.05.
