Progress is reported in studies on the physical properties of graphite; the effects of irradiation on ice; an investigation of color centers in single KI crystals; thermal selfdiffusion in Ag; the optical properties of irradiated diamonds; the preparation of a cyclotron target assembly to permit irradiation of Ag foils at controlled temperatures; g rays and tritium BETA particles; the effect of Co/sup 60/ gamma rays and tritium BETA particles on dissociation and recombination reactions in formic acid solutions; the gamma ray induced reaction of deuterium gas with liquid water; the production of hydrogen deuteride by gamma irradiation of aqueous solutions containing dissolved deuterium and hydrogen; applications of O/sup 18/ to a study of the radiation induced water- oxygen reaction; determinations of the decay schemes of Zr/sup 95/ and Th/sup 231/ . studies on the spectrum of actinium; the spectrographic determination of rare earths in Th and Th compounds; and a series of measurements on the nuclear magnetic moment of Rb/sup 85/, Rb/sup 87/, and I/sup 127/.
