Kinetics of the isotopic exchange of chloride in cholro-(diethylenetriamine)platinum(II) chloride has been studied using chlorine-36 as the tracer, employing an ion exchange quenching technique and activity determination by a liquid scintillation system. The aquation equilibrium constant was determined by means of titrations of the acidic proton on the H2O ligand formed according to the reaction: [Pt(dien)Cl+] + H2O = [Pt(dien)H2O2+] + Cl-; Keq (author).
