Final technical report for UCSD and subcontractor contributions to DE-SC0016420, Simulation Center for Runaway Electron Avoidance and Mitigation (SCREAM). Project description. MHD modeling includeing runaway electron drift orbit calculations will be carried out for DII-D disruption mitigation scenarios. The effects of pitch angle scattering on the energy distribution of runaway electron population will be evaluated using one or more collision models integrated / coupled with the runaway orbit following model in the nimrod code. An extension of the test particle model will be developed to predict runaway electron generation considering both primary and secondary sources of runaway electron production. Simulations simultaneously modelling the effects of generation, confinement, and moderation-space losses during a DII-D rapid shutdown (mitigated disruption) will be completed.
