Title: High-Octane Gasoline from Lignocellulosic Biomass via Syngas and Methanol/Dimethyl Ether Intermediates: 2018 State of Technology and Future Research

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/1482324· OSTI ID:1482324

This report will update modeled costs for the production of high-octane gasoline via gasification of biomass followed by syngas cleanup and conversion to methanol/dimethyl ether. The 2018 State of Technology will be based on recent bench-scale experimental results. This report will also update previously published information for this conversion pathway in the DOE Bioenergy Technologies Office 2016 Multi-Year Program Plan with current understanding of research goals achievable by 2022 and associated modeled cost reductions. All costs will be updated to a consistent set of assumptions in 2016 dollars.
