Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/1479289· OSTI ID:1479289

The study performed by an interdisciplinary team of the Bureau of Economic Geology (Jackson School of Geosciences, The University of Texas at Austin) presents an improved production outlook assessments for the major U.S. shale gas plays, including the Barnett, Fayetteville, Haynesville, and Marcellus. The team of geoscientists, engineers, statisticians, and economists has reviewed and analyzed developments in the understanding of geologic, production-technology, and economic factors and has developed a model to run various scenarios with respect to energy prices, costs, technological advances, changes in geologic attributes, and physical and regulatory constraints.
