Interactions of electrolysis cell and product recovery operations

A key feature for the economic success of an organic electrosynthesis process is product recovery. Electrolyte composition and cell operation which simplify product separation, salt and/or reactant recycle lead to significant cost savings. This feature is discussed in general terms with selected examples.
