This document provides estimates detail for the department and its programs primarily in terms of the results expected and the money spent. It begins with an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the portfolio and the spending plan for the coming fiscal year. This format is followed for the department and each of the programs administered. Administrative information includes a profile of financial requirements by object, personnel requirements, capital expenditures, transfer payments, revenue, loans, investments and advances, and the net cost of the program. Details include such information as personnel requirements, by occupational group, authorized person-years, and current salary range. Program descriptions include formal programs as well as activities related to government policy.
