The impact of gasoline price, gasoline supply, automobile ownerships costs, and automobile operating costs on transit ridership is examined. Monthly data on transit ridership, gasoline supply, gasoline price, and consumer price indexes for automobile repair and maintenance, automobile insurance rates, motor oil, used cars, and automobile finance charges are all plotted to compare monthly, seasonal and yearly trends.
