Title: Runaway electron instability in the high-density (. omega. /sub p/e/. cap omega. /sub e/>0. 5), low-electric-field (E/E/sub D/<0. 05) regime

Abstract

The characteristics of the runaway instability are studied for the high-density (..omega../sub p/e/..cap omega../sub e/>0.5) and low-electric-field (E/E/sub D/<0.05) cases. For this experimentally relevant case, the wave oscillation frequency as well as the growth rate are calculated for a variety of plasma parameters.
