New policies developed by the Economic Regulatory Administration (ERA) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) placed primary emphasis on the competitiveness and flexibility of a proposed import arrangement. Other new DOE policies by FERC and the National Energy Board of Canada regarding Canadian imports may enhance the marketability of Canadian gas in the US. The report summarizes Canadian and Mexican border price developments, reviews the contract and procedural impacts of the policy, and summarizes recent import-export data.
