Implement an ISO 14001 environmental management system
The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) standard brings environmental concerns into the mainstream of business operations by providing a framework for balancing and integrating environmental and economic interests. ISO 14001 requires that an organization develop an environmental management program that describes all of its environmental objectives and targets and how each will be achieved. The program must include a specific plan that details the actions required to meet each objective and target, the person(s) responsible for meeting each objective, and a time scale for when each target will be attained. Objectives and targets can be prioritized within the program, but all objectives must be included.
