Title: Evaluation of the intergranular adsorption of helium in the 0Kh16N15M3B and 0Kh16N15M3BR steels

Journal Article · · Sov. At. Energy (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5357502

The authors assess the effects of irradiation by fast and thermal neutrons on the internal friction and the adsorption of helium into the grain boundaries of the title steels. Increasing neutron fluence was found to increase the height of the grain boundary maximum of internal friction. Saturation behavior of the grain boundaries is studied mathematically as well as experimentally and takes into account the chemical composition of the steels, the concentration of helium, and the neutron reactions involving Ni 59 and B 10.
