Title: Milk and manure: cows can energize U. S

Abstract

The operation of a 180,000 gallon biogas digester on a 675 - cow dairy farm is briefly outlined. The gas, which is contained by a heavy plastic cover, is burned in a dual-fuel diesel engine to generate half the farm's electricity needs at about one-third the cost of commercial power.
