One of the goals of the OSTI international information program is to maximize the availability and usage of foreign scientific and technical information within the DOE and its contractor organizations. This publication provides an outline of the OSTI international program, with emphasis on activities in 1984. In addition, the international energy R and D information acquired through this program in 1984 and available for access via the Energy Data Base (EDB) is analyzed by country of publication, type of literature, and subject matter. The basis for this analysis is country of publication because country of publication determines coverage responsibility for the exchange agreements included in the OSTI international program. Of course, the specific research facility and country where the research was performed are also included in each research summary exchanged, and these data elements are available for interrogation and analysis in EDB.
