This bill was introduced into the US House of Representatives on October 27, 1990 to require the Secretary of the Interior to establish a comprehensive recycling program for units operated by the National Park Service and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. In addition, this legislation will require the Secretary of Agriculture to establish a recycling program for the United States Forest Service. Items to be recycled include: paper, plastics, glass, and aluminum and other metals, to the extent these materials are sold or distributed at the public recreation area or used to package items sold or distributed at the area. Recycling should be provided for other materials, such as waste oil, batteries, and solvents, which are considered appropriate for recycling by the manager of the public recreation area.
