Spreadsheet modeling of thermal and lighting performance

A series of linked spreadsheets has been developed which allow the designer to model climate effects on and the flow of energy in buildings. Spreadsheet software is widely available, easily operated and adaptable to particular circumstances. Standard engineering formulas are used for heating, cooling and lighting calculations. The analyst can establish what-if relationships by varying assumptions and measuring their effect on the result. Both numerical and graphical output is produced.
