Title: A review of the solar energy database for the Banat plain

The feasibility studies and the design of photovoltaic systems are generally based on the monthly mean values of solar irradiation. Such data are available for download from several online databases. The aim of this study is to assess the reliability of the data sets provided by different sources to design a photovoltaic system in the Banat region. For this, the monthly mean values of solar irradiation provided by five databases for Timisoara are assessed and compared.
