Title: Structural and optical properties of Bi{sub 4}Mg{sub 0.05}V{sub 1.95}O{sub 11−δ} synthesized via melt quench technique

Bi{sub 4}Mg{sub 0.05}V{sub 1.95}O{sub 11−δ} has been synthesized by melt quench technique followed by sintering. The X- ray diffraction pattern confirmed the γ - phase stabilization at room temperature with tetragonal crystal structure. These samples are also investigated by FT-IR and UV/vis spectroscopy to establish the relationship between structural and optical properties.
