New group seeks Clean Air Act paperwork cutback

The Air Implementation Reform Coalition (Arlington, VA), a newly formed coalition, is calling on Congress to reduce the Clean Air Act`s (CAA) procedural requirements, which it says add hundreds of millions of dollars in compliance costs. The permitting program, enhanced monitoring requirements, and plant modification rules impose undue burdens on industry without protecting the environment, the group says.
