Materials Data on Na5Lu(SiO3)4 by Materials Project
Na5Lu(SiO3)4 crystallizes in the trigonal R32 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are seven inequivalent Na1+ sites. In the first Na1+ site, Na1+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six O2- atoms. There are a spread of Na–O bond distances ranging from 2.28–2.97 Å. In the second Na1+ site, Na1+ is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five O2- atoms. There are a spread of Na–O bond distances ranging from 2.29–2.90 Å. In the third Na1+ site, Na1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form NaO6 octahedra that share corners with six SiO4 tetrahedra and a faceface with one NaO6 octahedra. There are three shorter (2.48 Å) and three longer (2.55 Å) Na–O bond lengths. In the fourth Na1+ site, Na1+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to six O2- atoms. There are a spread of Na–O bond distances ranging from 2.30–3.01 Å. In the fifth Na1+ site, Na1+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six O2- atoms. There are a spread of Na–O bond distances ranging from 2.38–2.61 Å. In the sixth Na1+ site, Na1+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four O2- atoms. There are a spread of Na–O bond distances ranging from 2.36–2.46 Å. In the seventh Na1+ site, Na1+ is bonded to six equivalent O2- atoms to form NaO6 octahedra that share corners with six equivalent SiO4 tetrahedra and faces with two equivalent NaO6 octahedra. All Na–O bond lengths are 2.44 Å. There are two inequivalent Lu3+ sites. In the first Lu3+ site, Lu3+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LuO6 octahedra that share corners with six SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Lu–O bond distances ranging from 2.18–2.28 Å. In the second Lu3+ site, Lu3+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LuO6 octahedra that share corners with six SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Lu–O bond distances ranging from 2.20–2.24 Å. There are four inequivalent Si4+ sites. In the first Si4+ site, Si4+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one NaO6 octahedra, a cornercorner with one LuO6 octahedra, and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 40–52°. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.60–1.70 Å. In the second Si4+ site, Si4+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent LuO6 octahedra and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 41–45°. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.61–1.69 Å. In the third Si4+ site, Si4+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one LuO6 octahedra, corners with two NaO6 octahedra, and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 37–50°. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.61–1.70 Å. In the fourth Si4+ site, Si4+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent LuO6 octahedra and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 39–50°. There is two shorter (1.62 Å) and two longer (1.67 Å) Si–O bond length. There are twelve inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to four Na1+ and one Si4+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded to two Na1+, one Lu3+, and one Si4+ atom to form distorted corner-sharing ONa2LuSi tetrahedra. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to two Na1+ and two Si4+ atoms. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to two Na1+, one Lu3+, and one Si4+ atom. In the fifth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one Na1+ and two Si4+ atoms. In the sixth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to two Na1+ and two Si4+ atoms. In the seventh O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to two Na1+, one Lu3+, and one Si4+ atom. In the eighth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to two Na1+, one Lu3+, and one Si4+ atom. In the ninth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to one Na1+, one Lu3+, and one Si4+ atom. In the tenth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to three Na1+, one Lu3+, and one Si4+ atom. In the eleventh O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to four Na1+ and one Si4+ atom. In the twelfth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two Na1+ and two Si4+ atoms.
