Title: Materials Data on U5Ge3 by Materials Project

Abstract

U5Ge3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent U sites. In the first U site, U is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Ge atoms. There are a spread of U–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.93–3.19 Å. In the second U site, U is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to two equivalent U and six equivalent Ge atoms. Both U–U bond lengths are 2.73 Å. All U–Ge bond lengths are 2.97 Å. Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine U atoms.
