Through the efforts of the Department of Energy, Nevada Operations Office (DOE/NV), Waste Minimization Task Force, a $30,000 grant was awarded to the clark County School District (CCSD) for development of the Whitney Mesa Environmental Education Nature Preserve. The Nature Preserve will serve as an outdoor learning center for all of the students in Clark County, Nevada, from grade school through college. The grant from DOE/NV will facilitate development of a master plan for the Nature Preserve.
