Materials Data on Ce2CdSe4 by Materials Project
Ce2CdSe4 crystallizes in the tetragonal I-42d space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ce3+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent Se2- atoms. There are a spread of Ce–Se bond distances ranging from 2.93–3.36 Å. Cd2+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent Se2- atoms. There are four shorter (2.85 Å) and four longer (3.42 Å) Cd–Se bond lengths. Se2- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ce3+ and two equivalent Cd2+ atoms.
