Title: Materials Data on UTe3 by Materials Project

Dataset ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.17188/1197447· OSTI ID:1197447

UTe3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of two UTe3 sheets oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. U6+ is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine Te2- atoms. There are a spread of U–Te bond distances ranging from 3.19–3.26 Å. There are three inequivalent Te2- sites. In the first Te2- site, Te2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent U6+ and four equivalent Te2- atoms. All Te–Te bond lengths are 3.12 Å. In the second Te2- site, Te2- is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five equivalent U6+ atoms. In the third Te2- site, Te2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent U6+ and four equivalent Te2- atoms.
