Materials Data on Ce3In by Materials Project
Ce3In is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ce is bonded to eight equivalent Ce and four equivalent In atoms to form distorted CeCe8In4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent CeCe8In4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent InCe12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent CeCe8In4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent InCe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent CeCe8In4 cuboctahedra. All Ce–Ce bond lengths are 3.40 Å. All Ce–In bond lengths are 3.40 Å. In is bonded to twelve equivalent Ce atoms to form InCe12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent InCe12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent CeCe8In4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent InCe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent CeCe8In4 cuboctahedra.
