The triple layer model would benefit from a three dimensional solution to the Poisson-Boltzman equation. In general, the inner-sphere complex of metal ions appear to be proportional to the first hydrolysis constant of the metal ion. Different metal oxide surfaces can be treated as Lewis bases. The strength of the base is proportional to the second hydrolysis constant.
