Research of Photosynthetic-Inspired Biohybrid and Biomimetic Systems has gained significant momentum in recent years as an approach to both study and use solar energy in new photon-to-fuels schemes that mimic photosynthesis. This intense interest arises from the incredible opportunity that photosynthetic-inspired biohybrids provide, which is to harness the optimal qualities of both artificial and natural photosynthetic systems byusing evolvedprotein architectures from biology to address synthetic challenges, and by incorporatingsynthetic molecules to creatively probe and utilize Nature’s mechanisms.
