Title: B c mesons and their properties on the light front

Abstract

We investigate the unequal-mass relativistic bound-state system, the Bc mesons, in a light-front Hamiltonian formalism. We adopt an effective Hamiltonian based on soft-wall light-front holography, together with a longitudinal confinement that was first introduced for heavy quarkonium. We also include the one-gluon-exchange interaction with a running coupling, which produces the spin structure. Here, we present the mass spectrum and light-front wave functions. We also use the light-front wave functions to calculate decay constants, charge and momentum densities, as well as distribution amplitudes. The results are compared with experiments and other theoretical approaches, all of which are in reasonable agreement.

The valence sector light-front wave functions of heavy quarkonia are obtained from the Basis Light-Front Quantization approach in a holographic basis. This allows us to investigate the role of rotational symmetry by considering vector mesons with different magnetic projections (mj = 0 , ± 1 ). We use the mj = 0 state of the vector meson to obtain the transition form factor, since this procedure employs the dominant spin components of the light-front wave functions and is more robust in practical calculations. While the mj = ± 1 states are also examined, transition form factors depend on subdominant components of the light-front wave functions and are less robust. Transitions between states below the open-flavor thresholds are computed, including those for excited states. Comparisons are made with the experimental measurements, as well as with lattice QCD and quark model results. In addition, we apply the transverse current to calculate the decay constant of vector mesons where we obtain consistent results using either mj = 0 or mj = 1 light-front wave functions. This consistency provides evidence for features of rotational symmetry within the model.</span><a href='#' onclick='$(this).hide().prev().hide().prev().show();return false;' style='margin-left:10px;display:none;'>« less</a></div><div class="metadata-links small clearfix text-muted" style="margin-top:15px;"> <span class="fa fa-book text-muted" aria-hidden="true"></span> Cited by 18<div class="pure-menu pure-menu-horizontal pull-right" style="width:unset;"> <ul class="pure-menu-list"> <li class="pure-menu-item"><span class="item-info-ftlink"><a class="misc doi-link " href="https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.98.034024" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Link to document DOI" data-ostiid="1466449" data-product-type="Journal Article" data-product-subtype="PA" >https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.98.034024</a></span></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> </li> <li> <div class="article item document" itemprop="itemListElement" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/WebPage"><meta itemprop="position" content="2" /><div class="item-info"> <h2 class="title" itemprop="name headline"><a href="/pages/biblio/1806247-semileptonic-decay-light-front" itemprop="url">Semileptonic decay of <math> <mrow> <msub> <mrow> <mi>B</mi> </mrow> <mrow> <mi>c</mi> </mrow> </msub> </mrow> </math> to <math> <mrow> <msub> <mrow> <mi>η</mi> </mrow> <mrow> <mi>c</mi> </mrow> </msub> </mrow> </math> and <math> <mi>J</mi> <mo>/</mo> <mi>ψ</mi> </math> on the light front</a></h2> <div class="metadata"> <small class="text-muted" style="text-transform:uppercase;display:block;line-height:2.5em;">Journal Article</small><span class="authors"> <span class="author">Tang, Shuo</span> ; <span class="author">Jia, Shaoyang</span> ; <span class="author">Maris, Pieter</span> ; <span class="author">...</span> <span class="text-muted pubdata"> - Physical Review D</span> </span> </div> <div class="abstract">We study the semileptonic decay of the B-c(0(-)) to charmonia through the bottom-to-charm-quark electroweak current in the framework of basis light-front quantization. Important empirical constraints employed in our analysis of the mass spectra and wave functions are the experimental mass-gap relation, ΔMP > ΔMV , where ΔMP(V) = M<a href='#' onclick='$(this).hide().next().show().next().show();return false;' style='margin-left:10px;'>more »</a><span style='display:none;'> $$^{2S}_{P(V)}$$ - M$$^{1S}_{P(V)}$$ and the hierarchy of the decay constants, f1S > f2S, between 1S and 2S meson states. We maintain the orthogonality of the trial wave functions of the 1S and 2S states in our variational calculation of the Hamiltonian with the Coulomb plus confining potentials and treat the hyperfine interaction perturbatively for the heavy-heavy and heavy-light P and V mesons due to the nature of the heavy quark symmetry. Realizing that the empirical constraints cannot be satisfied without mixing of the 1S and 2S states, we find the lower bound of the mixing angle θ between 1S and 2S states as θc = cot-1(2√6)/2 ≃ 6° and obtain the optimum value of the mixing angle around 12° to cover both the charm and bottom flavors of the heavy quark. The mixing effects are found to be more significant to the 2S state mesons than to the 1S state mesons. The properties of 1S and 2S state mesons including the mass spectra, decay constants, twist-2 distribution amplitudes, and electromagnetic form factors are computed. Our results are found to be in a good agreement with the available data and lattice simulations. In particular, the 2S state pseudoscalar Ds meson is predicted to have a mass of 2600 MeV, which is very close to the mass of the newly discovered Ds0(2590)+ meson by the LHCb Collaboration. This supports the interpretation of the observed state as a radial excitation of the $$D^s_+$$ meson.</span><a href='#' onclick='$(this).hide().prev().hide().prev().show();return false;' style='margin-left:10px;display:none;'>« less</a></div><div class="metadata-links small clearfix text-muted" style="margin-top:15px;"> <div class="pure-menu pure-menu-horizontal pull-right" style="width:unset;"> <ul class="pure-menu-list"> <li class="pure-menu-item"><span class="item-info-ftlink"><a class="misc doi-link " href="https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.106.014009" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Link to document DOI" data-ostiid="1876483" data-product-type="Journal Article" data-product-subtype="PA" >https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.106.014009</a></span></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> </li> <li> <div class="article item document" itemprop="itemListElement" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/WebPage"><meta itemprop="position" content="5" /><div class="item-info"> <h2 class="title" itemprop="name headline"><a href="/pages/biblio/1849974-light-mesons-within-basis-light-front-quantization-framework" itemprop="url">Light mesons within the basis light-front quantization framework</a></h2> <div class="metadata"> <small class="text-muted" style="text-transform:uppercase;display:block;line-height:2.5em;">Journal Article</small><span class="authors"> <span class="author">Qian, Wenyang</span> ; <span class="author">Jia, Shaoyang</span> ; <span class="author">Li, Yang</span> ; <span class="author">...</span> <span class="text-muted pubdata"> - Physical Review. We consider the mass eigenstates from an effective Hamiltonian consisting of the confining potential adopted from light-front holography in the transverse direction, a longitudinal confinement, and a one-gluon exchange interaction with running coupling.
