Multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock method and many-body perturbation theory: A unified approach

The multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock theory and many-body perturbation theory are combined in a calculation of the correlation energy of the ground state of the neutral beryllium atom. For this purpose the two-component Be multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock wave function is treated as a reference state and perturbation theory is used to systematically improve upon the accuracy of this function. The correlation energy of each pair of occupied orbitals is determined by solving numerically a coupled set of two-particle inhomogeneous equations. A detailed comparison is made with other beryllium calculations.

Calculation of the cross section and the transverse-longitudinal asymmetry of the process {sup 3}He(e,e{sup '}p)pn at medium energies within the unfactorized generalized Glauber approach

The cross section and the transverse-longitudinal asymmetry A{sub TL} of the three-body breakup process {sup 3}He(e,e{sup '}p)pn have been calculated by a parameter-free approach based upon realistic few-body wave functions corresponding to the AV18 interaction, treating the rescattering of the struck nucleon within the unfactorized generalized eikonal approximation. The results of calculations exhibit a good agreement with recent JLab experimental data and show the dominant role played by the final state interaction, which, however, in the region of missing momentum, 300< or approx.p{sub m}< or approx.600 MeV/c, and removal energy corresponding to the two-body kinematic peak and higher, E{sub m}>more »« less

Angle-resolved photoelectron spectra of metal cluster anions within a many-body-theory approach

A consistent many-body theory based on the jellium model is applied for the description of angular resolved photoelectron spectra of metal clusters anions. The results of calculations demonstrate the dominant role of the many-body effects in the formation of angular distributions of photoelectrons emitted from sodium clusters and are in a good agreement with recent experimental data. The concrete comparison of theory and experiment has been performed for the photoionization of Na{sub 7}{sup -} and Na{sub 19}{sup -} anions being characterized by the entirely closed shells of delocalized electrons.
