Magnetic structure and dispersion relation of the $S = \frac{1}{2}$ quasi-one-dimensional Ising-like antiferromagnet ${BaCo}_{2} V_{2} O_{8}$ in a transverse magnetic field

Here, BaCo₂V₂O₈ consists of Co chains in which a Co²⁺ ion carries a fictitious spin 1/2 with Ising anisotropy. We performed elastic and inelastic neutron scattering experiments in BaCo₂V₂O₈ in a magnetic field perpendicular to the c axis which is the chain direction. With applying magnetic field along the a axis at 3.5 K, the antiferromagnetic order with the easy axis along the c axis, observed in zero magnetic field, is completely suppressed at 8 T, while the magnetic field gradually induces an antiferromagnetic order with the spin component along the b axis. ${}^{77}{Se}$ NMR investigation of the $K_{x}$ Fe $_{2 - y}$ Se $_{2}$ high- $T_{c}$ superconductor ( $T_{c} = 33$ K)

We report comprehensive 77 Se NMR measurements on a single crystalline sample of the recently discovered FeSe-based high-temperature superconductor K x Fe 2 - y Se 2 ( T c = 33 K) in a broad temperature range up to 290 K. Despite deviations from the stoichiometric KFe 2 Se 2 composition, we observed 77 Se NMR line shapes as narrow as 4.5 kHz under a magnetic field applied along the crystal c axis, and found no evidence for co-existence of magnetic order with superconductivity. This manuscript describes a measurement of the Q value for the highly forbidden beta-decays of ⁵⁰V and the double electron capture decay of ⁵⁰Cr. The Q value corresponds to the total energy released during the decay and is equivalent to the mass difference between parent and daughter atoms. This mass difference was measured using high precision Penning trap mass spectrometry with the Low Energy Beam and Ion Trap facility at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory.
