Title: The energy distribution of the electron beams in z-pinches with different load geometries

Abstract

This journal article reports the results of an investigation electron beams in z-pinch plasmas. The paper reports the use of a Faraday cup assembly in combination with a magnetic field place above the z-pinch anode plate at the University of Nevada, Reno, Nevada Terawatt Facility. The main conclusion was that the geometry of the wire-array load can significantly affect the generation of electron beams in the plasma and the electron energies.
