We present a high-resolution in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy study of excited states in the mirror nuclei ⁵⁵Co and ⁵⁵Ni following one-nucleon knockout from a projectile beam of ⁵⁶Ni. The newly determined partial cross sections and the γ-decay properties of excited states provide a test of state-of-the-art nuclear structure models and probe mirror symmetry in unique ways. The new experimental data are compared to large-scale shell-model calculations in the full pf space which include charge-dependent contributions. Here, the ³⁶Ar(n,γ) ³⁷Ar (t_1/2 = 35 d) and ³⁸Ar(n,γ) ³⁹Ar (269 yr) reactions were studied for the first time with a quasi-Maxwellian (kT ~ 47 keV) neutron flux for Maxwellian average cross section (MACS) measurements at stellar energies. Gas samples were irradiated at the high-intensity Soreq applied research accelerator facility-liquid-lithium target neutron source and the ³⁷Ar/³⁶Ar and ³⁹Ar/³⁸Ar ratios in the activated samples were determined by accelerator mass spectrometry at the ATLAS facility (Argonne National Laboratory). Laser Spectroscopy of Neutron-Rich ${}^{207, 208}{Hg}$ Isotopes: Illuminating the Kink and Odd-Even Staggering in Charge Radii across the $N = 126$ Shell Closure

The mean-square charge radii of ^207,208Hg (Z = 80, N = 127,128) have been studied for the first time and those of ^202,203,206Hg (N = 122,123,126) remeasured by the application of in-source resonance ionization laser spectroscopy at ISOLDE (CERN). The characteristic kink in the charge radii at the N = 126 neutron shell closure has been revealed, providing the first information on its behavior below the Z = 82 proton shell closure. A theoretical analysis has been performed within relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov and nonrelativistic Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approaches, considering both the new mercury results and existing lead data. Investigating neutron-proton pairing in $s d$ -shell nuclei via $(p, {}^{3}{He})$ and $({}^{3}{He}, p)$ transfer reactions

Neutron-proton pairing correlations are investigated in detail via np transfer reactions in N=Zsd-shell nuclei. In particular, we study the cross-section ratio of the lowest 0+ and 1+ states as an observable to quantify the interplay between T=0 (isoscalar) and T=1 (isovector) pairing strengths. The experimental results are compared to second-order distorted-wave Born approximation calculations with proton-neutron amplitudes obtained in the shell-model formalism using the universal sd-shell interaction B. Our results suggest underestimation of the nonneglible isoscalar pairing strength in the shell-model descriptions at the expense of the isovector channel.
