Title: Universal asymptotics of three-point coefficients from elliptic representation of Virasoro blocks

Abstract

In (1+1)-d CFTs, the 4-point function on the plane can be mapped to the pillow geometry and thereby crossing symmetry gets translated into a modular property. This feature arises from the Virasoro blocks in the elliptic representation. We use these modular features to derive a universal asymptotic formula for OPE coefficients in which one of the operators is averaged over heavy primaries. As an application, we demonstrate that the coarse-grained heavy channel then reproduces features of the holographic 2 → 2 S-matrix which has black holes as their intermediate states.

Quantum Regge trajectories and the Virasoro analytic bootstrap

Every conformal field theory (CFT) above two dimensions contains an infinite set of Regge trajectories of local operators which, at large spin, asymptote to “double-twist” composites with vanishing anomalous dimension. In two dimensions, due to the existence of local conformal symmetry, this and other central results of the conformal bootstrap do not apply. We incorporate exact stress tensor dynamics into the CFT₂ analytic bootstrap, and extract several implications for AdS₃ quantum gravity. Universality in asymptotic bounds and its saturation in 2D CFT

We study asymptotics of three point coefficients (light-light-heavy) and two point correlators in heavy states in unitary, compact 2D CFTs. We prove an upper and lower bound on such quantities using numerically assisted Tauberian techniques. We obtain an optimal upper bound on the spectrum of operators appearing with fixed spin from the OPE of two identical scalars. While all the CFTs obey this bound, rational CFTs come close to saturating it. This mimics the scenario of bounds on asymptotic density of states and thereby pronounces an universal feature in asymptotics of 2D CFTs. Next, we clarify the role of smearing in interpreting the asymptotic results pertaining to considerations of eigenstate thermalization in 2D CFTs. On the late-time behavior of Virasoro blocks and a classification of semiclassical saddles

Recent work has demonstrated that black hole thermodynamics and information loss/restoration in AdS₃/CFT₂ can be derived almost entirely from the behavior of the Virasoro conformal blocks at large central charge, with relatively little dependence on the precise details of the CFT spectrum or OPE coefficients. Here, we elaborate on the non-perturbative behavior of Virasoro blocks by classifying all ‘saddles’ that can contribute for arbitrary values of external and internal operator dimensions in the semiclassical large central charge limit.
