The activity of the major intracellular protein phosphatase, protein phosphatase 2A WPM, is determined by the nature of the associated regulatory subunit. A new family of human PP2A regulatory subunits has recently been identified. Three of these subunits, B56{beta}, B56{delta}, and B56{epsilon}, are most highly expressed in brain, while the B56{alpha} and B56{gamma} isoforms are highly expressed in cardiac and skeletal muscle. Genes PPP2R5A-PPP2R5E encoding the phosphatase regulatory proteins B56{alpha}, B56{beta}, B56{gamma}, B56{delta}, and B56{epsilon} have now been mapped by fluorescence in situ hybridization to chromosome regions 1q41, 11q12, 3p21, 6p21.1, and 7p11.2-p12, respectively. 16 refs., 1 fig.

A program for the calculation of the entire beam spectrum produced by a target inside an accelerator and guided by a very general transport system is presented. The program uses the following information: the rate of production of particles as a function of their angle of emission and their momentum, the characteristics of the accelerator field that crosses the particles before the transport system is reached, and the characteristics of this system and of the receiver. Comprehensive analysis of the human ESCRT-III-MIT domain interactome reveals new cofactors for cytokinetic abscission

The 12 related human ESCRT-III proteins form filaments that constrict membranes and mediate fission, including during cytokinetic abscission. The C-terminal tails of polymerized ESCRT-III subunits also bind proteins that contain Microtubule-Interacting and Trafficking (MIT) domains. MIT domains can interact with ESCRT-III tails in many different ways to create a complex binding code that is used to recruit essential cofactors to sites of ESCRT activity. Here, we have comprehensively and quantitatively mapped the interactions between all known ESCRT-III tails and 19 recombinant human MIT domains. A large accessory protein interactome is rewired across environments

To characterize how protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks change, we quantified the relative PPI abundance of 1.6 million protein pairs in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae across 9 growth conditions, with replication, for a total of 44 million measurements. Our multi-condition screen identified 13,764 pairwise PPIs, a 3-fold increase over PPIs identified in one condition. A few 'immutable' PPIs are present across all conditions, while most 'mutable' PPIs are rarely observed. Immutable PPIs aggregate into highly connected 'core' network modules, with most network remodeling occurring within a loosely connected 'accessory' module.
