The decay energies and intrinsic widths of a number of states were measured, and the momentum correlations of three-body decaying states were considered. A second<a href='#' onclick='$(this).hide().next().show().next().show();return false;' style='margin-left:10px;'>more »</a><span style='display:none;'> $2p$-decaying 2 <sup>+</sup> state of <sup>12</sup>O was observed for the first time, and a higher-energy <sup>12</sup>O state was observed in the 4$p$+2α decay channel. This 4$p$+2α channel also contains contributions from fissionlike decay paths, including <sup>6</sup>Beg.s.+6Be <sub>g.s.</sub>. Analogs to these states in <sup>12</sup>O were found in <sup>12</sup>N in the 2$p$+ <sup>10</sup>B and 2$p$+α+ <sup>6</sup>Li channels. The momentum correlations for the prompt 2$p$ decay of <sup>12</sup>O <sub>g.s.</sub> were found to be nearly identical to those of <sup>16</sup>Ne <sub>g.s.</sub>, and the correlations for the new 2 <sup>+</sup> state were found to be consistent with sequential decay through excited states in <sup>11</sup>N. The momentum correlations for the 2$$^+_1$$ state in <sup>12</sup>O provide a new value for the <sup>11</sup>N ground-state energy. Data were taken for four-momentum transfers ranging from $Q^2$=1.1 to 4.8 GeV$^2$ for a fixed center of mass energy of $W$=2.14 GeV. The ratio of $$\sigma_L$$ and $$\sigma_T$$ was extracted from the measured cross sections for $^1$H, $^2$H, $$^{12}$$C and $$^{63}$$Cu targets at $Q^2$ = 2.15 and 4.0 GeV$^2$ allowing for additional studies of the reaction mechanism. The experimental setup and the analysis of the data are described in detail including systematic studies needed to obtain the results. The results for the nuclear transparency and the differential cross sections as a function of the pion momentum at the different values of $Q^2$ are presented. These three β decays contribute 43% of the ¯νe flux near 5.5 MeV emitted by nuclear reactors. This ν¯ <sub>e</sub> energy is particularly interesting due to spectral features recently observed in several experiments including the Daya Bay, Double Chooz, and RENO Collaborations. Measurements were conducted at Oak Ridge National Laboratory by means of proton-induced fission of <sup>238</sup>U with on-line mass separation of fission fragments and the Modular Total<a href='#' onclick='$(this).hide().next().show().next().show();return false;' style='margin-left:10px;'>more »</a><span style='display:none;'> Absorption Spectrometer. We observe a β-decay pattern that is similar to recent measurements of <sup>92</sup>Rb, with a ground-state to ground-state β feeding of 91(3)%. We verify the <sup>96gs</sup>Y ground-state to ground-state β feeding of 95.5(20)%. Our measurements substantially modify the β-decay feedings of <sup>142</sup>Cs, reducing the β feeding to <sup>142</sup>Ba states below 2 MeV by 32% when compared with the latest evaluations.
