A series of rare-earth-doped Ni_43-xRxMn₄₆Sn₁₁ (x = 0, 1 and R = Pr, Gd, Ho, Er) alloys was fabricated by arc melting, and their structural, magnetic, and magnetocaloric properties were studied through room temperature X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry, and magnetization measurements. Analysis of XRD data reveal that the alloys crystallize in the cubic L2₁ austenite phase structure as the major phase with a small trace of martensitic phase (MP). Effect of Bi substitution on the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of Ni₅₀Mn₃₅In_15-xBi_x Heusler alloys

The structural, magnetic, magnetocaloric, and transport properties of Ni₅₀Mn₃₅In_15-xBi_x (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.5) compounds has been studied through X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry, and magnetization measurements. A mixture of high temperature austenite phase (AP) and low temperature martensitic phase (MP) was observed from the XRD at room temperature. The saturation magnetization M_S at 10 K was found to decrease with increasing Bi content. Three temperature-induced phase transitions at T=T₁, T_M/T_A, and T_C, related to the ferromagnetic order of the martensitic phase (FMMP), martensitic (structural) transitions (MT), and the ferromagnetic order of the austenitic phase (FMAP), respectively, have been observed in the off-stoichiometric Heusler alloys, Ni_50-xCo_xMn₃₅In₁₅ (x=1, 2.5) and Ni₄₅Co₅Mn₃₇In₁₃. In this work, the phase transitions temperatures are found to be depended on alloy composition.
