Reparameterization invariant operator basis for NRQED and HQET

We provide a self-contained discussion of how reparameterization invariance connects a rotationally-invariant heavy particle effective theory with a single heavy fermion to a Lorentz-invariant theory. Furthermore, using Hilbert-series methods, a Lorentz- invariant operator basis is tabulated, up to and including operators of order $1/M^4$, when the fermion couples to an external U(1) or SU(3) gauge interaction.

On HQET and NRQCD operators of dimension 8 and above

Effective field theories such as Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET) and Non Relativistic Quantum Chromo-(Electro-) dynamics NRQCD (NRQED) are indispensable tools in controlling the effects of the strong interaction. The increasing experimental precision requires the knowledge of higher dimensional operators. We present a general method that allows for an easy construction of HQET or NRQCD (NRQED) operators that contain two heavy quark or non-relativistic fields and any number of covariant derivatives. As an application of our method, we list these terms in the 1/M⁴ NRQCD Lagrangian, where M is the mass of of the spin-half field.

The Bender-Dunne basis operators, T{sub −m,n}=2{sup −n}∑{sub k=0}{sup n}(n/k )q{sup k}p{sup −m}q{sup n−k} where q and p are the position and momentum operators, respectively, are formal integral operators in position representation in the entire real line R for positive integers n and m. We show, by explicit construction of a dense domain, that the operators T{sub −m,n}'s are densely defined operators in the Hilbert space L{sup 2}(R)

We introduce a systematic method to classify the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) operators based on their CP properties with the Hilbert series techniques. Our method makes it possible to enumerate operators violating CP symmetry in a few seconds. We present the complete classification of dimension eight operators under CP transformation, and the number of CP-odd or CP-violating operators are listed up to dimension 14. We also provide a companion code in Form that allows anybody to reproduce our results.
