The ³He(α,γ)⁷Be and ³H(α,γ)⁷Li astrophysical S factors are calculated within the no-core shell model with continuum using a renormalized chiral nucleon–nucleon interaction. The ³He(α,γ)⁷Be astrophysical S factors agree reasonably well with the experimental data while the ³H(α,γ)⁷Li ones are overestimated. The seven-nucleon bound and resonance states and the α + ³He/³H elastic scattering are also studied and compared with experiment. Here, the low-lying resonance properties are rather well reproduced by our approach. At low energies, the s-wave phase shift, which is non-resonant, is overestimated.

${}_{Λ}^{3}H$ and ${}_{\bar{Λ}}^{3}{\overline{H}}$ production in Pb–Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76 TeV$

© 2016 CERN for the benefit of the ALICE Collaboration. The production of the hypertriton nuclei HΛ3 and H[U+203E]Λ-3 has been measured for the first time in Pb-Pb collisions at sNN=2.76 TeV with the ALICE experiment at LHC. The p T -integrated HΛ3 yield in one unity of rapidity, dN/dy×B.R.(HΛ3→He3,π-)=(3.86±0.77(stat.)±0.68(syst.))×10-in the 0-10% most central collisions, is consistent with the predictions from a statistical thermal model using the same temperature as for the light hadrons. Measurement of the ratio $B (B_{s}^{0} \to J / ψ f_{0} (980)) / B (B_{s}^{0} \to J / ψ ϕ (1020))$ in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7 TeV$

The ratio Rf0/φ of the branching fractions of the B⁰ _s meson to the CP-odd eigenstate J/ψ f₀(980) and to J/ψ φ(1020) is measured, where J/ψ → µ ⁺µ ^-, f₀ → π ⁺π ^-, and φ → K⁺K^-. The analysis is based on a data sample of pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.3 fb^-1 . The result is R_f0/φ = 0.140 ± 0.013 ± 0.018, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This result is consistent with theoretical predictions andmore »« less

Measurement of key resonance states for the ${}^{30}P (p, γ) {}^{31}S$ reaction rate, and the production of intermediate-mass elements in nova explosions

We report the first experimental constraints on spectroscopic factors and strengths of key resonances in the P-30(p, gamma)S-31 reaction critical for determining the production of intermediate-mass elements up to Ca in nova ejecta. The P-30(d,n)S-31 reaction was studied in inverse kinematics using the GRETINA gamma-ray array to measure the angle-integrated cross-sections of states above the proton threshold. In general, negative parity states are found to be most strongly produced but the absolute values of spectroscopic factors are typically an order of magnitude lower than predicted by the shell-model calculations employing WBP Hamiltonian for the negative-parity states.
