Gravity-mediated SUSY breaking models with R-parity conservation give rise to dark matter in the universe. I review neutralino dark matter in the minimal supergravity model (mSUGRA), models with non-universal soft SUSY breaking terms (NUSUGRA) which yield a well-tempered neutralino, and models with unified Yukawa couplings at the GUT scale (as may occur in an SO(10) SUSY GUT theory). These latter models have difficulty accomodating neutralino dark matter, but work very well if the dark matter particles are axions and axinos.

SUGRA-GUT motivated SUSY search in the dielectron channel at D0

In this paper we present a search for events consistent with the production and decay of supersymmetric particles in the Supergravity- GUT framework in the D{null} detector at Fermilab. We examine the 1994-95 Run 1B data for events containing two or more electrons, two or more jets, and a substantial missing transverse energy. This is complementary to the search in the canonical jets and missing transverse energy channel. Technique for the comparison of light spectra from natural and laboratory generated lightning current arcs

A technique was developed for the comparison of observed emission spectra from lightning current arcs generated through self-breakdown in air and the use of two types of initiation wire, aluminum bronze and nichrome, against previously published spectra of natural lightning events. A spectrograph system was used in which the wavelength of light emitted by the lightning arc was analyzed to derive elemental interactions. A lightning impulse of up to 100 kA was applied to a two hemispherical tungsten electrode configuration which allowed the effect of the lightning current and lightning arc length to be investigated. Comparison of SUSY spectra generators for natural SUSY and string landscape predictions

Models of natural supersymmetry give rise to a weak scale m_weak ~ m_W,Z,h ~ 100 GeV without any (implausible) finetuning of independent contributions to the weak scale. These models, which exhibit radiatively driven naturalness (RNS), are expected to arise from statistical analysis of the string landscape wherein large soft terms are favored, but subject to a not-too-large value of the derived weak scale in each pocket universe of the greater multiverse. The string landscape picture then predicts, using the Isajet SUSY spectra generator Isasugra, a statistical peak at m_h ~ 125 GeV with sparticles generally beyond current LHC search limits.more »« less
