Displaced lepton jet signatures from self-interacting dark matter bound states

We study self-interacting dark matter signatures at the Large Hadron Collider. A light dark photon, mediating dark matter self-interactions, can bind dark matter particles to form a bound state when they are produced via a heavy pseduoscalar in pp collisions. The bound state can further annihilate into a pair of boosted dark photons, which subsequently decay into charged leptons through a kinetic mixing portal, resulting in striking displaced lepton jet signals. After adapting the analysis used in the ATLAS experiment, we explore the reach of the model parameters at the 13 TeV run with an integrated luminosity of 300 fb^-1.more »« less

Gravitino Dark Matter, Neutrino Masses and Lepton Flavor Violation from broken R-parity

We study gravitino dark matter and slow gravitino decays in supersymmetric theories with broken R-parity. It turns out that for the model parameters that may give rise to viable radiative neutrino masses, and visible R-violating signatures in colliders, gravitinos are cosmologically stable and can be good dark matter candidates. On the contrary, the decays of the Next-to-Lightest Supersymmetric Particle are fast, and can be easily reconciled with Big Bang Nucleosynthesis. New U(1) gauge model of radiative lepton masses with sterile neutrino and dark matter

Here, an anomaly-free U(1) gauge extension of the standard model (SM) is presented. Only one Higgs doublet with a nonzero vacuum expectation is required as in the SM. New fermions and scalars as well as all SM particles transform nontrivially under this U(1), resulting in a model of three active neutrinos and one sterile neutrino, all acquiring radiative masses. Charged-lepton masses are also radiative as well as the mixing between active and sterile neutrinos. At the same time, a residual Z₂ symmetry of the U(1) gauge symmetry remains exact, allowing for the existence of dark matter.

Syndetic extension of baryon and lepton numbers: Proton decay and long-lived dark matter

The well-known baryon and lepton numbers of the standard model of quarks and leptons are extended to include new fermions and bosons in a simple structure with several essential features. The usual heavy right-handed neutrino singlets (for neutrino mass and leptogenesis) are related to the axion which solves the strong $CP$ problem. At the same time, baryon number is broken softly, allowing the proton to decay. Associated with this breaking, a long-lived dark-matter candidate (called the pseudosakharon) emerges. This new insight connects proton decay to a new component of dark matter.
