Enhanced di-Higgs boson production in the complex Higgs singlet model

We consider the Standard Model (SM) extended by the addition of a complex scalar singlet, with no assumptions about additional symmetries of the potential. This model provides for resonant di-Higgs production of Higgs particles with different masses. We demonstrate that regions of parameter space allowed by precision electroweak measurements, experimental limits on single Higgs production, and perturbative unitarity allow for large di-Higgs production rates relative to the SM rates.

We investigate the prospective reach of the 14 TeV HL-LHC for resonant production of a heavy Higgs boson that decays to two SM-like Higgs bosons in the 4b final state in the scalar singlet extended Standard Model. We focus on the reach for choices of parameters yielding a strong first order electroweak phase transition. The event selection follows the 4b analysis by the ATLAS Collaboration, enhanced with the use of a boosted decision tree method to optimize the discrimination between signal and background events. LHC search of new Higgs boson via resonant di-Higgs production with decays into 4W

Searching for new Higgs particle beyond the observed light Higgs boson h°(125 GeV) will unambiguously point to new physics beyond the standard model. We study the resonant production of a CP-even heavy Higgs state H° in the di-Higgs channel, gg → H°→ h°h°→ WW*WW*, at the LHC Run-2 and the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). We analyze two types of the 4W decay modes, one with the same-sign di-leptons (4W → ℓ±νℓ±ν4q) and the other with tri-leptons (4W → ℓ±νℓ∓νℓ±ν2q).
