In this study, we use angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) to study the two-dimensional (2D) heavy-fermion superconductor, Ce₂ RhIn₈. The Fermi surface is rather complicated and consists of several hole and electron pockets with one of the sheets displaying strong nesting properties with a q vector of (0.32, 0.32) π/a. We do not observe k_z dispersion of the Fermi sheets, which is consistent with the expected 2D character of the electronic structure. Electronic structure of non-centrosymmetric PtBi2 studied by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy

Using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), we have systematically studied the electronic structure of non-centrosymmetric PtBi2 with a layered structure. Through photon energy dependent measurements, the surface state and the bulk state were identified. Consistent with the non-centrosymmetric structure, different surface states were observed on opposite PtBi2(001) surfaces. Experimental bulk bands agree nicely with first-principle calculations. By combining ARPES and calculations, energy bands that contribute to triply degenerate point fermion were all detected. We also suggest that there are “canted” tube-like Fermi surfaces that might cause strong anisotropy in electronic transportation in non-centrosymmetric PtBi2.

Electronic structure of $R Sb$ ( $R = Y$ , Ce, Gd, Dy, Ho, Tm, Lu) studied by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy

Here, we use high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and electronic structure calculations to study the electronic properties of rare-earth monoantimonides RSb (R = Y, Ce, Gd, Dy, Ho, Tm, Lu). The experimentally measured Fermi surface (FS) of RSb consists of at least two concentric hole pockets at the Γ point and two intersecting electron pockets at the X point. These data agree relatively well with the electronic structure calculations. Detailed photon energy dependence measurements using both synchrotron and laser ARPES systems indicate that there is at least one Fermi surface sheet with strong three-dimensionality centered at the Γ point.
