A new approach for the solution of Klein–Gordon equation using Legendre wavelet-based approximation method is presented. The properties of Legendre wavelets are used to reduce the problem to the solution of system of algebraic equations. Usually 2{sup (k−1)}M{sup 2} connection coefficients are required to solve the Klein–Gordon equation by Legendre wavelets method as mentioned in the literature. But, our proposed method based on Legendre wavelets and algebraic polynomials require only 2{sup (k−1)}M connection coefficients instead of 2{sup (k−1)}M{sup 2} . Wavelet representation of light-front quantum field theory

A formally exact discrete multiresolution representation of quantum field theory on a light front is presented. The formulation uses an orthonormal basis of compactly supported wavelets to expand the fields restricted to a light front. The representation has a number of useful properties. First, light-front preserving Poincaré transformations can be computed by transforming the arguments of the basis functions. The discrete field operators, which are defined by integrating the product of the field and a basis function over the light front, represent localized degrees of freedom on the light-front hyperplane. Theory and application of frequency-selective wavelets

Orthonormal compactly supported wavelets have been successfully applied to generate sparse representations of piecewise-smooth functions, yielding fast numerical algorithms. The authors consider the case of case of piecewise oscillatory functions, and construct a variation of the original Daubechies family of wavelets which efficiently represents the oscillations. This new family is constructed by moving some of the zeros of the underlying symbol away from [pi], shifting the approximation properties of the wavelets.
